How a killer who tortured a school girl to death talked his way out of jail
The killing was every bit as horrific as the Moors Murders
Imagine a gang subjecting a school girl to the most horrific, drawn out torture possible, and then leaving her for dead. Imagine the horror the family of this girl has had to endure. Then imagine the horror of seeing their daughter’s killers eventually released from jail, back into the world.
In 1993, one of Manchester’s most horrendous and notorious murders was carried out. 16-year-old Suzanne Capper was tortured for a week at a house in Moston before being driven to remote woodland near Stockport where she was doused in petrol and set on fire.
Barely alive, she was discovered by some nearby workers after being left for dead. Tragically she lost her battle with her injuries and died later in hospital, but not before she named her killers.
This year, one of the last members of that vile gang still in prison was deemed suitable for release. In this week’s Testimony, we look back at the sheer barbarity of the murder, and how this killer talked his way out of a jail cell.
